Natural Birth Control vs. Birth Control Pills
If you want to get burned out on sex by the time you reach the age of 40, take birth control pills. If you want to increase your risk of uterine, cervical, and breast cancers, take birth control pills. If you can deal with horrible mood swings, breast swelling and tenderness, pounding headaches, recurrent vaginal yeast infections, nausea and vomiting, bloating, leg cramps, yellow tinged skin (liver damage), hypertension, thromboembolism (blood clot causing blockage in a blood vessel), thrombophlebitis (vein inflammation associated with clot formation), depression, excessive vaginal bleeding, take birth control pills. You risk having dangerous blood clots that can migrate to your lungs, brain, or heart. According to Pharmacology for Massage Therapy, birth Control pills mimic the physiologic effects of naturally occuring female sex hormones. Estrogens are used in oral and transdermal contraceptives to trick the body into thinking its already pregnant, thereby preventing pregnancy. To monitor for a possible blood clot, if you are taking a birth control pill, be aware of these signs and symptoms: Redness, heat, swelling, and pain found most frequently in the legs. If you think you may have any of these symptoms, massage would be contraindicated. Contact your physician to determine if a clot is indeed present.
There are things you can do, besides taking a "blood thinner" such as aspirin, or coumadin, or plavix. If I were a woman with a blood clot, i would immediately start on a regiman of taking the hottest cayenne pepper i could find-preferably in tincture form. You can order it at www.herbdoc.com The name of the product is simply "Cayenne". Its manufactured by American Botanicals, a company owned by Richard Schulze, M.H. I would also take Tumeric. Mix it in water, or juice. The juice i most recommend is called Ningxia Red. Other ways to deal with clots which work much better than drugs: Essential Oils of Helichyrsum and Cistus-20 drops of each in a capsules, or mixed with an ounce or two of Ningxia Red. I would also apply those oils topically to the area, along with Clove, and Lavender Oils. I only recommend Young Living Essential Oils. Click on "Reasons Why I Choose Young Living Essential Oils" to see why.
Regarding birth control pills, here is an event that you do not want to repeat for yourself, or any of your friends, or loved ones:
I received this on 2-20-08, from a friend who works with an herbalist/naturopathic doctor:
Recently this past week my cousin Nicole, age 31, a newly graduated student with a doctoral degree about to start her new career as a doctor, was flown to a nearby hospital because she passed out. They found a blood clot in her neck, and immediately took her by helicopter to the ER to operate. By the time they removed the right half of her skull to relieve the pressure on her brain; the clot had spread throughout her brain causing severe damage. Since Wednesday night, she was battling...they induced her into a coma to stop the blood flow, and they operated three times...Finally they said there was nothing they could do...they found multiple clots in the left side of her brain...the swelling wouldn't stop, and she was on life support...She died at 4:30 am yesterday. She leaves behind a husband, a 2 year old, and a 4 year old. THE CAUSE OF DEATH-what they found was birth control pills which she had been taking. The pills allow you to only have 3 periods per year. They interrupt life's menstruel cycle. Although the pills are FDA approved, they shouldn't be. Please deal with your period once a month, so you can live every single month for the rest of your life. The name of this birth control pill is Lybrel. If you go to www.lybrel.com you will find at least 26 pages of information on this drug. The other birth control pill is seasonique. Go to www.seasonique.com and find 43 pages of information on this drug. The warnings and side effects of both of these drugs are horrible! This is why I am offering information here that will lead you to find other alternatives to birth control pills. If anything else, get your husband or boyfriend to wear a condom! No muss, no fuss, no worries. (well, few worries!)
From the booklet, Neem: The Miraculous Healing Herb by John Conrick
"The two biggest worries while having sex are pregnancy and disease. Neem Oil's safe, lubricating action combined with its birth stimulating properties can allow both partners to concentrate more on enjoying sex and less on worrying about pregnancy and disease.
Research over the last 20 years has shown Neem Oil to be 98% effective at preventing pregnancy when used as a vaginal lubricant. The effectiveness lasted over five hours after a single application and produced no irritation. That compares to no more than 30 minutes for commercial spermicides that are messy and irritating to both parties. Neem Oil's birth control effect does not appear to be hormonal and is considered a safe and effective alternative to other methods.
A Neem based contraceptive cream called, Sensal, was recently developed by a pharmaceutical company for distribution in India. Tests of its effectiveness showed that it compared favorably with the chemical based foams and gels usually used for contraception but had the advantage of also killing disease causing bacteria, fungus, and viruses.
Neem contains a number of healing compounds that lesson the chance of contracting or transmitting sexual diseases. Used in conjunction with condoms Neem can help to minimize the risk of dangerous diseases such as Aids, herpes, and the human papilloma virus (HPV). As an added bonus, Neem Oil safely acts as a lubricant soothing vaginal walls without danger of damaging latex condoms...
Most men build up to, and complete an orgasm much quicker than women. This disparity in timing is frustrating to both participants. To remedy the situation, topical analgesics have been used to help men delay their orgasms. Most of these analgesics are effective, but irritate the areas they touch. Neem Oil has a very mild desentitizing quality that has traditionally been used to treat skin conditions such as scrapes, burns, psorisis, and itching. By reducing slightly the nerve sensitivity of the penis, the buildup of sensations that end in orgasm is slowed. This delay enables the woman to continue her slower orgasmic buildup so she may achieve orgasm either before or simultaneously with the man.
Sex is an integral part of the human experience. The way our bodies respond to stimuli, the timing of peak sexual enjoyment and the distracting influence of worry and fear can all reduce the potential for pleasure. Though Neem is no aphrodisiac or love potion, it can make sex more enjoyable for both partners by making sex safer, better, and more worry-free."

Lemons for Birth Control?
From www.mercola.com
"After investigating traditional contraceptive techniques, an eminant Australian based scientist has proved that lemon juice diluted five to one with water, kills HIV, and sperm within seconds. Roger Short's findings will be made public in a scientific paper read at the Ninth International Symposium on Spermatology at the University of the Western Cape next week. Symposium convener Professor Gerhard van der Horst is excited by the discovery of a cheap, universally available, non-technical way to block HIV transmission and describes Short's paper as "a milestone..."
Dr. Mercola's comment: These are the types of therapies I love-inexpensive, completely natural with no side effects. While this method is appealing on many levels, it would certainly seem that this approach needs careful scrutiny as to its effectiveness. However one variation of the above might be to use half of a lemon and scoop out some of the insides, while retaining some of the actual lemon and juice, and use it as a "cap" to actually cover the cervix Not only this serve as a barrier to the sperm from actually entering the uterus, but as the article above suggests, the lemon juice appears to act as an effective spermcidal agent Until further data is in, it seems like this approach is safe enough and potentially effective enough to consider if your pregnancy avoidance is an absolute must."
